High-speed recordings
LMT SpeedCore offers at least 30% higher productivity in hobbing applications
The name of the new hob cutting material says it all: SpeedCore offers significantly higher cutting speeds as a result of the new cutting material that forms the hob core. The new hob cutters perform up to 50% faster than tools made of powder metallurgy high-speed steel (PM-HSS).
This recording shows a single tooth test. One tooth of a gear hob is isolated for example to test the lifespan.
Composites machining
The machining of modern composite materials poses completely new challenges for cutting tools when it comes to preventing fibre pull-outs, protrusions and delamination. Users therefore have to take extra care in choosing their tools. This video shows composites machining at KraussMaffei's.
Thread rolling in seconds
Chipless thread fabrication with a thread rolling head has a whole range of advantages: the finished surfaces are smooth and have increased strength; the material fibers remain unbroken. Because no chips are created, rolling naturally saves on material. The following video shows thread rolling with LMT tools.
LMT TeraSpeed sets new speed record for machining cast material
This innovation offers a dramatic increase in cost-effectiveness as a result of a major breakthrough in coating technology. LMT TeraSpeed is the world’s first AlTiN coating to be deposited using a CVD process.
