LMT contributes to this year’s EMAG technology conference
On 29 and 30 March 2011 EMAG will be welcoming guests to Salach for EMAG Technologie-Fachgespräche 2011, a technology conference being held under the motto “Shortening the Process Chain – Higher Efficiency”. LMT is one of the partners of the event, where it will be informing visitors about the latest developments in machining tools. A special highlight of the conference will be provided by German astronaut Professor Ulrich Walter from the Technological University in Munich. Under the heading “The Power of Space” he will be giving EMAG’s guests insights into the practical benefits of discoveries made in space research.
By contrast, the content of the specialist lectures and talks will be very much down to earth. The main emphasis will lie on the efficient organization of manufacturing processes and the latest developments in the field of metal cutting. Among other things, the programme includes specialist lectures on subjects such as laser welding, the process integration of induction hardening and the complete machining of large workpieces. Additionally, speakers will be exploring broader subjects such as energy efficiency in process and machine design and comparing the production strategies used in serial production by European and Asian manufacturers.
Tools for efficient production
As a partner of the EMAG event, LMT will presenting the latest developments in cutting tools at Salach, including the AMB fair highlight XChange, the world’s first modular tap drill series. Only the cutting heads of XChange tap drills consist of carbide, while the shaft is made of high-speed steel (HSS). The result is a tool that combines the positive characteristics of the HSS shaft – high torsional strength and robustness – with the higher cutting speeds and long tool life of the carbide blade. In addition, LMT personnel will be available to inform participants about the LMT Group’s complete range of tools. Are you interested in attending the EMAG technology conference?
