Web seminar: boosting gear-cutting performance

Gearwheel production is usually mass production. That’s why methods are always being sought to reduce production times and production costs. The fact that huge increases in productivity are possible, especially in gear-cutting, is demonstrated by the gear hob with the LMT SpeedCore cutting material. Tool experts will be highlighting its advantages along with other innovations in a video transmission on 4 May – during the LMT Group Academy Web seminar on gear-cutting.
The name of the new cutting material for gear hobs really says it all: SpeedCore enables 50% higher cutting speeds than hobs made of powder metallurgy high-speed steel (PM-HSS). This allows users to produce significantly higher numbers of parts and is made possible by the new cutting material, which forms the core of the hob.

The new cutting material is taking LMT another step forward in the development of its range of gear-cutting systems, which, for example, also include involute gear cutters, double-threaded hobs and chamfer-cut hobs that can be used to complete gear-cutting and deburring in a single work step. Within the framework of the live presentation during the Web seminar, LMT experts will outline what you need to know about gear-cutting and demonstrate which tool systems ensure large productivity increases in different applications.
