Hanover/Oberkochen, 19 September 2011. LMT is presenting a significant number of new precision tools and coatings at this year’s EMO.
Products that stand out among these new developments are the SpeedCore hob cutting material, the Nanomold Gold and TeraSpeed tool coatings and the RC 4014 compact axial rolling head. The potential of these developments has already been recognized by industry experts. For example, the Maschinenmarkt trade journal has honoured LMT FETTE'S new SpeedCore hob with the prestigious MM Award in the tools category. Nanomold Gold by LMT Kieninger is the first nanocomposite layer especially developed for use in die and mould making. The TeraSpeed coating, which is used on indexable inserts, involves a new process developed by LMT alliance partner BOEHLERIT that can apply an aluminium titanium nitride layer using the CVD technique (chemical vapour deposition). The very small RC 4014 axial rolling head finally enables users to exploit the advantages of chipless thread production even when threads are close together or the component’s shape prevents the use of conventional heads.
These tool innovations are the result of a thorough restructuring at LMT. The corporate group now focuses on areas of application in which it can offer technologically superior solutions. Innovations are systematically advanced in LMT TECHNOLOGY GROUP research and development projects that are coordinated across the whole Group. The LMT TOOL SYSTEMS sales company implements this focused strategy by concentrating on particular segments oriented towards customers’ fields of application. After successfully establishing this sales structure in Germany, LMT is now also organizing international sales along the same lines in the core markets of the USA, China, India and South America.
