The concentricity of the clamped tool – that is the central advantage of thermal clamping with a shrink chuck.
The hole in the chuck is only a tiny bit smaller than the diameter of the cutter shaft. When heated, the chuck expands and the tool can be inserted. When it has cooled down again, the chuck grips the tool with great precision.
Bilz has developed this method further in a range of products.

The ThermoGrip ISG2200, for example, allows every user to control and directly influence all the steps of the process. The user can therefore move the tool into the shrinking position manually. The duration of heating can also be manually controlled. At the same time, all the advantages of large induction devices are offered.

The power of the generator makes it possible to shrink-clamp and release both carbide and HSS tools with diameters between 3 and 20 mm – without troublesome coil changes.
