Our Highlights 2019:
Solutions for industry 4.0 and e-mobility

Industry 4.0 and e-mobility represent particular challenges for the tool sector: connected, fully-automatic manufacturing processes coupled with growing demands on production and quality require increasingly more efficient and more innovative tool solutions which are adapted individually to machining tasks.

At the EMO 2019 in Hanover, LMT Tools presented solutions for digital transformation to a smart factory and e-mobility. Visitors also could explore our product highlights ranging from high feed cutting to the newest product extensions of the ChamferCut technology.

Custom-fit
tool solutions

As a renowned partner to the automotive industry, LMT Tools supports technological development of the sector. Whether boring, milling, threading, rolling, reaming or gear cutting: with its extensive range of tools, LMT Tools covers the changing requirements on precision tools – from roughing applications and processes to finishing. The focus is on high-performance tools which are exactly aligned to the customer’s specific electric engine components and production requirements. This also includes the thin-walled, complex stator housing: among others, this involves the use of high-performance PCD tools, individually-designed reamers and reliable thread formers.

New high feed cutters:
Extended range of application

With the CARBFeed range, we are extending our high feed milling range to include a new generation of solid carbide cutters. Tools for machining steel and cast iron (CARBFeed Steel), stainless steel, super alloys, titanium (CARBFeed Inox), and hardened materials (CARBFeed Hard) set new benchmarks in terms of productivity, tool life, and surface quality – thereby permitting new, enhanced performance. For example, new records have been achieved in pocket machining tests which are significantly higher than the market standard. These top performances have been achieved by optimally adjusting the macro- and micro-geometries to the tools’ corresponding areas of application. Maximum machining volumes and therefore reduced processing times and manufacturing costs are guaranteed.

ChamferCut partnership
with Liebherr

LMT Tools and Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH are collaborating to continue the success story of the patented ChamferCut method and signed a cooperation contract for the new ChamferCut-CG (collision gear) and ChamferCut-IG (internal gear). At EMO in Hanover, Daniel Ehmans, CEO LMT Tools, and Dr. Hans Gronbach, Managing Director Technology, Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH, signed a corresponding cooperation agreement recording mutual exclusivity. Liebherr already enjoys by far the largest penetration of the market for ChamferCuts offered by LMT Fette. Now, thanks to the new agreement, these latest extensions also enable users to benefit from the high degree of process and application competence as well as long-term expertise offered by these technology partners.
