Digital connectivity for maximum precision
Smart tool systems offer enormous potential for increasing efficiency and process reliability. This is also apparent in the manufacture of drill holes with close tolerances. One feature of fine boring tools from LMT Tools is their fully-automated cutting elements which are adjusted using electronic components. As a result, the edges can be set digitally so that they are absolutely precise and – if so desired – any wear arising can be compensated fully automatically. Apart from smart fine boring tools, LMT Tools also develops smart rolling systems – EVOline tangential rolling heads – for manufacturing external threads.

Whether boring, milling, threading, rolling, reaming or gear cutting: with its extensive range of tools, LMT Tools covers the changing requirements on precision tools – from roughing applications and processes to finishing. The focus is on high-performance tools which are exactly aligned to the customer’s specific electric engine components and production requirements. This also includes the thin-walled, complex stator housing: among others, this involves the use of high-performance PCD tools, individually-designed reamers and reliable thread formers.

Faster processes, high process reliability and maximum feasibility: LMT Tools begins a new chapter in the area of high feed cutting and extends its range even further. One of the market’s most extensive ranges of tools for high feed cutting has been created featuring new solid carbide and indexable insert cutters. In terms of tool life and productivity, these new solid carbide high feed cutters are setting standards in machining steel and cast iron (CarbFeed Steel), stainless steel and alloys which are difficult to machine (CarbFeed Inox), as well as hardened materials (CarbFeed Hard).
Thanks to optimal adjustment of macro- and micro-geometry to the tools’ corresponding area of application, new records have been achieved in pocket machining which are significantly higher than the market standard. The modular MultiEdge 2Feed mini cutting system which is used primarily for machining smaller and medium-sized components has also been supplemented. The tried-and-tested indexable insert (WSP) geometry has been extended to include a type for machining high temperature-resistant steel and super alloys (ISO-S), guaranteeing maximum machining volumes.
