The highlights at AMB 2024 (10 to 14 September in Stuttgart) include the universally applicable and highly efficient EASY product range, high-performance GearSkiving solutions based on process-reliable simulation and high-precision automatically adjustable tools with four cutting edges.

FinishLine Premium: New CPKT Cutting Inserts with Chipbreaker

With the FinishLine Premium universal milling system, LMT Tools offers a high-precision tool solution for pre-machining and finishing. The tool specialist has now added a press-to-size indexable insert for ISO-P and ISO-M to its program. Thanks to the special topography with chip breaker, long-chipping materials can also be machined efficiently. The wear-resistant carbide grade with Nanomold Black coating, which has proven itself in die and mould making, enables universal use in dry and wet machining.

HPC: New High Performance Cutters for High Productivity Requirements

The new HPC family enables top performance in processes with high productivity requirements. It combines the tried-and-tested DHC Premium, DHC INOX Premium, DHC Slot and DHC Hardline tool series under one roof and achieves a significantly higher metal removal rate thanks to improved technology. Compared to the proven products of the previous series, increased tool life of up to 70 % has been achieved. The uneven pitch ensures smooth running and process reliability, while the surface quality of the machined workpieces is a further advantage.

EASYReam: Universally Applicable Reaming Tools with Maximum Efficiency and User-Friendliness

The new EASYReam family includes solid carbide reamers and modular reamers and combines maximum efficiency and easy handling with the greatest possible flexibility in use. The tool solutions feature internal cooling and a lapped cutting edge in the modular solution. They guarantee a stable process with excellent surfaces and long tool life. The result is shorter machining times, greater process reliability and reduced production costs. The user-friendly handling also shortens set-up times.

Highly Efficient Tool Solutions for GearSkiving

GearSkiving is an efficient technology for producing internal and external gears, but places high demands on the tools used. The simulation software developed by LMT Fette provides a detailed assessment of the relevant process parameters as early as the design phase and supports the process from the customer drawing to the safe and successful use of the tool. This way, gear skiving wheels that set standards in terms of machining time, production costs, component quality, tool life and process reliability can be realized within a very short time.

T3.18 EVO: Reduced Centre Height for Versatile Use on Multi-Spindle Automatic Lathes

The tangential rolling head T3.18 offers many advantages as a further developed version of its predecessor model, the T18F. Thanks to the significantly reduced centre height, it enables efficient thread production on multi-spindle automatic lathes, even in tight installation spaces. It guarantees the highest component quality with extremely short machining times, a high degree of process reliability and safe, simple tool handling during thread rolling. It also offers an optimized cooling and flushing system with variable connection options. It is also characterized by its high stability thanks to force flow-oriented component structures. This bionic optimization can only be produced using 3D printing (additive manufacturing).

High-Precision Automatically Adjustable Tools with Four Cutting Edges

In the Advanced Tools area, LMT Tools is presenting new four-edged automatically adjustable tools with infinitely variable, highly accurate and uniform adjustment in the micrometre range. The tool systems have a stable, centrifugal force-resistant design as well as a central coolant supply with direct feed to each cutting edge and enable µm-precise machining of a wide range of contours and diameters with just one tool. This ensures a productive machining process with short cycle times, high component quality, little downtime and maximum process reliability.
