On the trail of history
The new timeline, which adorns the opposite wall of the new training workshop at one of our German production sites in Lahr, brings together over 100 years of company history. After more than a year of creation and implementation, the LMT Tools trainees have completed their project.
A timeline was created back in 2010 as part of a trainee project to mark the company's 50th anniversary. The project team then got together at the beginning of 2023 to redesign the previous timeline. Information was gathered during the joint meeting so that an initial draft concept could be presented in May 2023. During a visit to the company site in Schwarzenbek in northern Germany, it was then possible to exchange ideas with the marketing team, who provided support during this process.
Together with an external company, the final design was then drawn up in March 2024. A 7.5-metre-long timeline, primarily made of acrylic glass, now adorns the opposite wall of the new training workshop. A highlight: the light blue LED strip that backlights the dates.
The timeline combines over 100 years of company history: In 16 stages, the history of LMT Tools is presented from its year of origin in 1908 up to 2023. Black and white and color images are used to reflect the times. A small monitor shows current images and news from the company. It was also important to the trainees to include the LMT Tools mission statement on this timeline. Experience reports from a wide range of customers are included on the green-blue layer.
In April 2024, the old timeline was dismantled to make room for the newly designed one. This has now been shining since June 2024 and offers insights into the history of LMT Tools.
